THE PIT - MMA
Rooted in Hawaiian Kempo, THE PIT was started in 1985 in Woodland Hills, California.
"I started THE PIT because I wanted people to learn a no nonsense martial art and conditioning program. Some of the world's best fighters have trained at THE PIT but you don't have to compete to be a part of the Ohana. All that is asked is that you give THE PIT the respect and loyalty it gives you. Confidence, loyalty, and humility are what is expected of all PIT Monsters."

The PIT Mixed Martial Arts
THE PIT MMA program is designed for adults of all ages, experience, and fitness levels. Classes are "old school" tough yet upbeat and fun in a friendly environment where adults can learn effective MMA skills and get into peak physical condition.
THE PIT MMA classes are great for fans, hobbyists, or those who want to learn mixed martial arts without having to compete. A structured curriculum designed by the "Pit Master" is followed for each class covering aspects of standup and ground fighting. The THE PIT's MMA curriculum is rooted in Hawaiian Kempo and includes aspects of boxing, kickboxing, jiujitsu, submission grappling, judo, and wrestling skills with a mindset of "use what works, get rid of what doesn't."
Individuals looking to learn MMA in a fun and safe environment, get a great alternative workout, or just add skills to their martial arts training will all benefit from THE PIT MMA classes.
CrossPIT
Are you looking to get into MMA fighting shape but not quite ready to spar or grapple?Do you have a tight schedule and find yourself looking for a short but effective workout?
THE PIT MMA Workout incorporates a style of fitness that is tested and proven in modern mixed martial arts. Designed by coach John "PIT Master" Hackleman, who has trained UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell and The Ultimate Fighter Season 11 winner Court McGee, THE PIT MMA Workout fuses 30 years of training by boiling down and reducing old school systems into a simple philosophy - "use what works and discard what doesn't."
PIT Workouts are "old school tough" yet fun and upbeat and fuse together functional fitness with fundamental MMA drills. Sessions will consist of five rounds for a duration of five minutes with a one minute break in between each round or a five minute round warmup followed by a cycle where you compete against yourself for your best time. Students can track their progress over time as they repeat workouts and try to improve their time or cycles completed.
Whether you're training for MMA competition or cross training with other sports, THE PIT MMA Workout will get you closer to your goals of ultimate fitness and conditioning.
